Sea Salt

{Top & Jeans: Gap, Shoes: Vintage, Bracelets: JCrew & thrifted, Watch: Aldo, Necklace: H&M}

This is possibly the most comfortable outfit I've ever worn. These jeans are like butter and the light and flowy top is perfect for the warm days of August. This top reminds me of the sea salt deposits you sometimes find on clothing after visiting the beach. All in all, a perfectly summery outfit - even if it is comprised of dark colors.

Brambles

{Top: Jacob, Skirt: thrifted and hemmed, Necklace: Kohl's, Watch: Aldo}

I love the femininity of this outfit. This skirt has quickly become a favorite since I salvaged it from the thrift store and updated the length. It spins and flows beautifully - perfect for summer!  It especially reminds me of all the blackberry picking I've been doing lately. A favorite summer pastime. Pairing it with the striped top wasn't exactly intentional, but I enjoyed the end result.

Photoshop has temporarily stopped working for me, apparently, but once I can figure out how to fix that problem, I'll be sharing my San Francisco trip through some lovely photographic memories.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Back to Blog

Oh my dear. It has been well over a month since my last post. Not cool, Karla. So not cool.

So let's play a little catch up, shall we?

I went to San Francisco for a week with my mom after my last post and it. Was. FANTASTIC! I can't wait to share all my pictures and re-live that amazing experience in a beauty of a city. For now, I will leave you with just this one.

While I was on that trip, I took a phone interview for a dream position. A few days later I was offered a second interview, on campus. The next week (just a few days I had started a different, temporary position, I might add) I was offered my dream job.

Overthemoon excitement ensued, let me tell you.

Commence packing, tearful goodbyes, moving, unpacking, and starting a new job in a new city. It's been a pretty hectic, intense, and exciting month. I'm loving my new place and coworkers. It's still an adjustment and I'm learning about something new everyday. The job is a challenge but it is exactly what I was looking for.

To make things just a bit busier, I've been away for the last two weekends. Two weeks ago I spent a few days with my sister and brother-in-law who are expecting their first child in less than two weeks - I can't wait to be an aunt! This last weekend I went to my cousin's wedding in Calgary and it was so much fun. I rarely get to see my Calgary family so it was so great to catch up and have some good laughs together.

These next few weeks are looking fairly busy with staff training and the beginning of a new school year, but I'm finally settled into my new home and job enough to be more consistent with my posts and do a little work around this here blog.

Cheers to more regular posts!
